In this exhibit, artists share their interpretations of the cultural roots and evolution of the Day of the Dead tradition, from its pre-Hispanic origins to colonial and modern times.

Mictlan is the underworld in Nahua and Mexican cosmology. There couldn’t be a more appropriate title for this display, since it is at the underground  gallery of the Portland Center Stage at The Armory.

This exhibit features paintings, printmaking, photography and sculpture installations. It includes work by Hispanic artists from Mexico, Oregon and Alaska. It also includes two oil paintings from Victor Miguel Barragan from his Universes inverted series.
