Muertomobile

The Tradition Is Coming to You

A mobile gallery for the Day of the Dead.

We are happy to report that the first exhibit of the Muerto / Propulsion Mobile for Cinco de Mayo 2023, in Woodburn, Oregon was a success!

In collaboration with Chemeketa Woodburn Community college the “Surcos del presente” printmaking exhibit was part of Cinco de Mayo of 2023. This small preview of the Day of the Dead celebration. In  addition Woodburn asked the Propulsion Mobile to return in August for the Fiesta Mexicana.

Unlike the Batmobile, the Muertomobile will actually visit your community.

The original proposal for “Día de Muertos: A Celebration of Life” started as thirteen art installations distributed among Oregon cities. In order to reach more communities we decided to create a gallery on wheels to bring the Día de Muertos to your doorstep.

Thanks to the Oregon Community Foundation Extended Grant now this mobile gallery is a reality. In addition, the Portland Clean Energy Fund provided a grant to add solar panels and a rechargeable battery with the capacity to power all future mobile art shows.

We are excited to share it with as many people as we can. The Propulsion Mobile is already working to bring the Day of the Dead celebration to life in Oregon communities. Keep an eye out for when it visits yours!

Next stop October 28-30 Happy Valley at Yolotl Mexican Cusine
